Flickr, Contest, Fanime

So I've pretty much accepted the fact that I hate DA's updating interface. If any of you actually enjoy my photography, I'd really appreciate it if you check out my Flickr account, it's updated quite regularly and comments are <3.

I'm also holding another art contest on Gaia, for anyone interested in it. There are some pretty big prizes, like Horns of the Demon and Golden Laurels, plus lots of smaller ones. Come see!

Lastly, I'm going to Fanime again this year and I'm thankfully NOT working at a booth or anything, so I'll finally be able to check out the AA properly. If you're going to have a table there, please let me know so I can drop by!

I'll see you at fanime then :D Calling AX quits feels great...
Good to hear you won't be booth bound. Nothing sucks more than having to watch other people have fun while you are stuck woking.

Awesome! I look forward to it :D We'll have to make sure we meet up at some point.
:iconmaridah:
Heck yes :D Fanime seems reasonably sized, so it won't be so friggin' hard to find people like it is at AX.
I'll be in the Hilton. Are you staying in a con hotel? I'm hyped about being attached to the con for the sake of cosplay (I hate walking/driving in a costume. I always feel so stupid XD)

I'm at the Hilton too. Likely on the 8th floor, since as far as I know it's the only smoking floor ><
:iconmaridah:
LOL that's why we booked there too. My bf and I only smoke on the rare occasion, but some of my friends going are smokers and I wanted to be in the same hotel if they booked a room. They bring thier hookah usually, so yeah, the hilton was the only real option, considering. Bonus is, it's the cheaper of the two connected hotels XD
How is the food situation at Fanime? It was hard as hell to get food @ AX last year, and I'm just wondering if we should pack food for fanime if it's the same...

Last year it wasn't bad at all. There are tons of restaurants in all price ranges around the hotels and con center, and there were a few food stands inside it, but they were a little on the pricey side (standard for con center food). This site has a good list of food places sorted by distance from the center/hotels - [link]

There are fridges in all the rooms though, so if you can bring some snacks or something, it might be a good idea. I can't since I'm travelling from The Socialist Paradise of Canada and your border doesn't trust me, so I'm going to have to buy snacks this year.

The Hilton's quite nice, the photos on their website don't do it justice. They look really cheesy and bright, it's actually very rich and subdued.
:iconmaridah:
Keen. The restaurants around the con will make life much nicer. That's really good news.
Fridges? Score! That will win the convention over for me. We brought a cooler to AX one year, but that just doens't cut it after a few days, you know? LOL
Oh noes w/ Canadian border crossing. I hear they can be strict. It's stupid, but maybe you can hit up a grocery store after you reach San Jose? I'm sure we will bring enough snack that you can have some of ours if you can't :D

Hehe, thanks! We're also looking for booze, someone gave me the address of a place a few blocks away that's got snack and teh liquorz, so I'll probably be making a run for it there ;P
:iconmaridah:
Oh, I saw (and posted in like 20 mins ago) your thread about booze @ fanime on thier boards. There is a Bevmo close to the con, and we will be making at least one trip out there that you are welcome to come along. The selection at 7-11 is sad at best, and we had to contend with that a few AXs ago, so I scoped out the Bevmo early :D
The Bevmo is 7 or so mins by car from the convention center, not walking distance, but a short trip none the less. This is good since I don't know any friend that will be there that won't be wanting drinks (and hotel bars are inflated beyond reason usually)
