Lately this site has more than made me realize what a shithole it really is. There's miscategorized dreck everywhere, but when a staff member moves my photo with no real grounds and then gives me halfassed explanations as to why it was "not macro" that FIT MY IMAGE TO THE LETTER but still refuse to put it back, I'm reminded why I left here in the first place.

Artistic Nude is filled with bad amateur porn, all the portrait sections are filled with shameless camwhores with no sense, all the anime sections are filled with creepy ships and bad tracings, and yet DA continues to move the semi-decent content to places it doesn't belong.

Fuck this. I will miss the few people on here I still talk to, but I'm going back to Flickr, where there's still a real sense of community. If for some reason any of you want to keep in touch, I will check the comments here for a few days, let me know.

Otherwise, I am washing my hands of the moronic and pompous administration here.

Thank you. Hug means a lot right now. I've... not had the best day.

I was told flat-out by a staff member that my "technique needs work" and that my photo was lacking because basically it was not up to her "standards", despite clearly following her own definitions of the category, and yet she can't understand why I feel insulted.

Way to go, DA staff. Way to fucking go. At least have the decency to stop messaging me when I tell you to leave me alone.

okay so they're all power hungry know-it-all twits. It's alright :) I mostly am just here for friends anymore really. My best friend used to be an @and he quit because he was seeing way too much corruption. Plus one of his friends back stabbed him for a $ position. I think after jark got booted out of his position the community went down hill.

It's kind of why I don't bother posting here much nowadays.

It seems that all the really good stuff is completely underrated whereas all the stuff that I personal would label utter shit gets so much recognition it's ridiculous.

I don't understand why they would even discuss your technique at all? Miscat's have not that much to do with the quality of your technique? I'd be miffed about it too.

I have had people tell me my photos were not "right" either because they criticizing person felt it should be represented a "certain way" which we all know that rules are meant to be broken. I am not saying that my stuff is perfect. Just that sometimes, we can't all agree on what is the "right way" for a photo to be executed.

It is frustrating!

I know exactly what you mean. The DDs are a prime example of that. There's always at least two pictures of nude chicks, some anatomically wonky furry fanart, and one or two nice paintings or fractals.

I really like the way Flickr works, they have a featured section, but they won't tell anyone exactly what's involved in being highlighted. It's a series of algorithms, not a person who chooses, so stuff moves in and out of there all the time. Sometimes crap does end up there, but it's not in for long.
